What a night. I've been sick for about about a week now with some flu
symptoms. Well, last night I woke up from the most violent cough ever. I
could barely catch my breath. After about 20 minutes of that, I got up and took
a shower because I was soaking in sweat. Well, I felt
good for a second there, I say good, but really anything other than that
cough is great. I figured I'd stay awake since sleeping triggers the cough
somehow. Might have been a bad
idea.
I was on the computer around 3:00am, felt a yawn coming, and as soon as I
started to take that deep breath, I felt like a few ribs in my chest snapped.
Probably the most excruciating
pain I've ever experienced. I couldn't take a deep
breath without the feeling. I figure, ok, stay awake and don't take any deep
breaths. I can do that, right? Well, it gets better. A few minutes later I start
feeling pain in my chest. Felt like a needle was poking me from the inside, but
it was strange
because I felt it all the way from my chest to my back. I tried sitting in different
positions to no avail.
At this point I'm thinking one of my lungs collapsed or I'm having a heart
attack is in progress. I was rooting for the heart attack because then I wouldn't
have to get up and go to the hospital. No luck! Pain didn't go away and I'm
still fucking alive. Alright, time to put
some pants on and head to the emergency room, mind you, the pain is getting
worse.
Oh what a fun drive to the hospital it was! I had to pull over every 2 or 3
miles because my head would start pounding and my eyes would just go bloodshot
and blurry. I'm about a mile away from the hospital and guess what I see in
my rear view mirror? You guessed it, blurry flashing red and blue lights.
Great, how could this get any worse? Now I'm trying to decide whether to stop or
keep going. Of course my focus was on the pain, and how bad I just wanted to get
there, so I ignored Mr. Police Officer and kept
driving. After a minute I heard him over the PA system yelling "Driver,
pull over, I know you can see my lights, etc...". It dawned on me, I could
turn the emergency
lights on, and maybe that will give me the potential to avoid a pit maneuver
from the cop. I think it worked. He turned his sirens off but kept flashing his
lights and following me.
Once I got to the hospital, I pulled
up right in front of the emergency room, left my car running and got out and
walked towards the entrance. The cop chases after me and gets in my face. He
asked me what my problem was and why I didn't pull over. I said "take a
fucking hint, I'm in front of the E.R.", and I kept walking, the MORON
keeps following me asking me if I am sick. I said "I think I'm having a
heart attack, you can park
my car, wait for me in the lobby, or get the fuck out of my face". He
says I'm pretty demanding for someone who is having a heart attack. I totally
ignored him and walked in and asked for help. They put me on a stretcher and
took me in. The fucking cop says "I'll be waiting for the results.",
I wanted to get up and smack him like the fucking cunt he is, but I didn't have the
energy.
They gave me a breathing treatment, stuck an IV in my arm and that's as far
as I remember until I woke up about 4 hours later. The results were, I had Bronchitis,
Pharyngitis,
Reactive
Airway Disease and Pleurisy.
That last one is what was causing the chest pain. They gave me some stuff
through the IV that seemed to help a lot. Prescribed Antibiotics, an inhaler and
a couple other pills. Fucking meds alone were 240 mother fucking dollars! I
should have stolen
that tray of pills at the hospital.
As soon as I felt
better I was released. Now I was ready to talk to the cop. The
cocksucker had left. Which is totally fine with me, but when I walked
outside my car was gone. I went back and asked if the cop turned in my keys,
they said no he had it towed. You have got to be fucking
kidding me. I called a good friend of mine, an attorney and explained what
happened. He said not to worry, because that cop just made a very, very
expensive mistake. I said OK, come take me home, so he did. I'll keep you posted
on the whole car deal as I know nothing yet.
We stopped and got my meds from the pharmacy and I went home. I feel so much
better now. Anyway, I'm going to try and get some rest now. Oh, I'm going to be
redoing worthypost.com because, well I don't like the way it works. Not very
user friendly. So I'm going to take it down when I get a chance in the next
couple days to fix
it and put up the final draft.
